From Artist and Founder Dan Droz:
I think a lot about designing for simple fabrication and all the other issues that might impact the placement of sculpture. This basic philosophy eventually led to an approach to conceptualizing and fabricating sculpture.
To streamline the selection, fabrication, and installation of sculpture for private and commercial projects at an affordable cost so architects and developers can more readily consider sculpture as a way to complement and elevate their spaces.
There may well be other sculptors, who together with their galleries, fabricators and finishers, and provide great sculpture for commercial spaces, but no one we know of has focused specifically on addressing some of the obstacles that architects and developers face in considering sculpture for their projects.
The way we’re thinking about this is from the point of view of the architects, developers, and tenants and some of the challenges to incorporating sculpture in architectural settings, such as:
Thematic issues
Issues relating to dealing with an artist and the selection of a particular work
Timelines/schedules, fabrication, and installation issues
And cost
In particular, we’ve developed a very cost-effective fabrication method that allows us to accommodate any scale or finish and is relatively easy to adapt thematically.

More about our philosophy:
Although it is well understood that sculpture can add value and meaning to architectural spaces, selecting and installing large-scale sculptures can be challenging for architects and developers. Issues such as budget constraints, artist and artwork selection, fabrication and installation have long deterred architects and developers from incorporating large-scale sculpture for their projects.
To address these issues, award-winning designer and sculptor Dan Droz has streamlined the process of selecting, fabricating, finishing and installing large-scale sculpture. Droz has created over 100 ‘maquettes,’ (realistic models) representing a broad range of themes that can be scaled and finished to correspond to your needs in a variety of materials, processes, and finishing methods. Each sculpture is unique, fabricated and finished to your particular specifications. Droz can also work with your team to create customized alternatives that address specific needs or thematic preferences. Then, we create realistic renderings to show how the sculpture will look in your project.
Whether your needs are for freestanding, wall-mounted or suspended works, either for indoor or exterior use, Droz’s unique background as a designer and sculptor provides architects and developers a seamless way to select and implement sculptures for your project.
Through a unique process of design development, fabrication and finishing, large-scale works are possible for a fraction of the cost of the traditional process for artist selection, fabrication and installation. We coordinate all the steps so your project can benefit from the placement of significant architectural scale sculpture; in addition to the sculpture development, fabrication and finishing, Droz Studios can also assist with event promotion, gift maquettes, and other related services.
